Family Hope 2006-2007

What If I Decide I Want to Pursue the Adoption of a Family Hope Child?

BCIS Considerations
To complete the adoption of a child from another country the adoptive family must file a U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS - formerly known as Immigration and Naturalization Services) form I-600A (Download your I-600A in PDF format) (Download free Acrobat Reader). BCIS approval can sometimes take several months, and often delays families in completing their adoptions. If you suspect that you will fall in love and want to adopt one of these Family Hope children we highly recommend that you begin this process as well.

Requirements For Adopting Parent(s)
- Couples married no less than two years
- Single women may adopt
- No age limit in most cases
- May have other children in the home

IFS Fee
Contact your local Family Hope Coordinator or call IFS at 800-619-8435 for complete details.
