Getting Ready for a Family Hope Child

Should you decide you want to be part of the Family Hope program you will need the following:

1. IFS/Family Hope Application

An IFS/Family Hope Application may be obtained from any IFS office.

NOTE: After your IFS/Family Hope Application is received, your local Family Hope Coordinator will make photos and medical information available (when available) to you of children who are available to host in your home. You will also receive a Family Hope Advocate Family Manual detailing the nuances of this special program.

2. Abbreviated Home Study
An abbreviated home study can be completed with one visit from a licensed social worker. Though abbreviated home studies are required for a Family Hope Child to be placed in a home, if you are sure you want to adopt, we recommend you begin the complete home study process.

3. Police Clearance
A police letter of clearance from your local law enforcement agency is also required.
